Nonsurgical body contouring continues its growth in aesthetics as more patients want to reshape their bodies without interference to their busy schedules. This has led to the rise of combination treatments like radiofrequency (RF) and electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). The latest of these body contouring innovations – eMVFit by Weero (Suwon, South Korea) – Kyungtae Bae, MDintegrates RF, EMS, vacuum suction and cooling for a complete, single-platform solution that offers hands-free and automatic management of body contouring treatments. Kyungtae Bae, MD, a cosmetic surgeon and chief director of ‘It’s Me’ Clinic (Sejong, South Korea) explained how eMVFit brings technologies together to create a comprehensive solution for global body shaping. “RF technology targets the fat layer to break down fat cells, while EMS stimulates the muscles to increase elasticity. This combination of muscle stimulation and tissue heating promotes muscle protein synthesis and signifi - cantly increases the expression of heat shock proteins, which play an important role in muscle hypertrophy,” he explained.

“eMVFit also provides vacuum technology for lymphatic drainage of fat that may occur after RF treatment,” Dr. Bae continued. “This saves time and effort compared to traditional manual massage, while helping with effective discharge and improved body shaping.” He added that integrated cooling technology regulates temperature to protect the skin during treatment, while a real-time temperature sensor continuously monitors skin temperature to ensure safe treatments.

“Quick and convenient nonsurgical body shaping solutions are becoming increasingly popular in Korean society and eMVFit is the right equipment to meet these needs,” Dr. Bae stated. “Our clinic is planning a treatment program using the eMVFit device once or twice a week, for a total of 4 to 12 weeks. Each session can vary depending on the patient’s body type, treatment area and individual needs, and can be used in combination with other treatment methods as needed.

“For example, for patients who want to focus on fat reduction, we perform treatment with a handpiece that combines RF and suction while utilizing high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), lipolysis injections, fl uid therapy, prescBefore and after treatment with eMVFit Photos courtesy of Weeroription medication and dietary education,” Dr. Bae continued. “For patients who want to focus on muscle gain, we plan on using the eMVFit EMS handpiece, as well as fl uid therapy and dietary education. This customized approach provides optimized results for each patient and maximizes synergistic effects when combined with other treatments.”

eMVFit provides a variety of modes and handpieces to accommodate a wide range of patients with treatments that can be tailored to individual needs. “Our clinic has created a new treatment program centered on eMVFit, and we plan to utilize this to attract new patients while providing new services to existing patients to increase satisfaction and encourage repeat visits,” Dr. Bae shared. “By introducing eMVFit in our practice, we will be able to offer our patients a wider range of customized body shaping solutions and expand our range of services. I believe eMVFit will be a worthwhile investment for many dermatology and aesthetic clinics to help their patients reach their body image goals.”
